A little after I was supposed to have my internet on and it was supposed to be the same date as my phone. I went through a lot of hoopla. At the time Josie was also going to Bible camp as well. I also had other commitments with volunteering various places and doing things for friends and family members. I was a little bit all over the place.
I had to take my laptop in a bag with all my books and my daughter to the library, to Mcdonald's (whose WIFI kinda sucks- no matter what McDonald's I went to ), to Starbucks, to Borders.. You get the drift. I was all over the place. There was some programs for kids going on at the library like Silly Safari and I would do my homework while she was getting some education.
Soon after I got the opportunity to go with mom to P.A. because she is planning on moving there and wanted to see the area(s) there and get to know what is around and what isn't. It was one week "vacation" with Josie and Mom and it was really nice because I got to see some family while I was there. Josie got to meet my mother's brother and his wife. She really enjoyed P.A. We also went to New York and saw Times Square (she met Spidey!) and we went to Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and that was awesome! She got to learn a lot of new things and see a lot of unique stuff. I think it is important for kids to learn new things and to have hands on experiences. This was one of those times.
All of this being said it was a very long month and a half since I moved into my apartment. I did things little by little as I went along. I slowly got through my room and then the whole surgery for my wisdom teeth and now here I am- with a slight infection and dry socket , loads of pain and with the help of my mom I finally got my room accomplished.
You don't want to see what it looked like before hand. Things were just thrown into my room and then my brother had to get out his futon and it came to me without frame. It was just literally thrown in my room in a way because he was moving from where he was to storage units , mom's and some stuff at mine. We all been just moving and unpacking and repacking and unpacking.. rinse and repeat. LOL
But, here it is after mom and I found my floor :
One of those tubs is the freecycled stuff (I do this often- I figure it is worth it more to give things to people who can really use them then to do a yard sale sometimes when you don't have enough to do a yard sale. Also, when you don't have that much and you have to accumulate crap for a yard sale it is better just to give away what you have especially when you don't have the room. I hate clutter anymore. I am just tired of things piling up. If I know of a family or something that is in needs of something I also go through things again to give away stuff. If it can go to good use and it is doing NOTHING here then it is better there.) I also freecycled a 19 inch television that belonged to Josie. She now has a much smaller television and really isn't even using that right now. She don't need a huge t.v in her room. She don't own a video game system. We own board games , books , videos, cds, cassette tapes and other things. We really don't even need cable except for the fact that it has like the discovery channel , BBC, News and stuff that we are interested in. It gives me something to have in the background for noise sometimes as well.
Here is my room afterwards :
Yes, it don't look like much to people but I have a bed. It is the futon mattresses on the floor but it is not a couch. Later on, I will get the frame. I plan on keeping this bed and just finding a frame. Maybe I will locate one on freecycle (who knows!?). I also have tubs that need to go through still that belongs in Josie's room but her room is a work in process still as well. We are getting there!!!!
I have tons of laundry to do now.. Taking a slight break. While I do I wanted to share with you a webisode I found online for Dean Koontz's Odd ... It is actually not bad , a little corny, but not bad. I am starting to really like webisodes. Anyone got any favorites of theirs? I found one once for the Greatest American Hero but I think it didn't get past episode 6 or 7 yet.
