Chickie and Josie reunited!

Chickie is Josie's best friend in the whole world (toy wise). She got him from the Easter Bunny this year and she has been in love with the little guy since then. I do not know the attachment to him because usually Josie has a stuffed animal of the week. She never really attached herself to anything except for when she was 6 months old and it was cuddles the cow. Now, it is Chickie and only chickie. She has other stuffed animals but nobody as important as him. She has taken him to numerous places including when we went to P.A. recently with my mom for her looking into apartments and it was like a vacation for us. Chickie and Josie both got to see some great things here are a few photos from P.A. :

Here is Chickie in a shop in Easton, P.A having some coke (that is Josie in the background).

Here is Chickie at the Ripley's Believe it Or Not museum in New York City. If you have NEVER been to there I suggest you go. It is awesome!

Here is Chickie posing with Josie in the Purple Cow in Easton, P.A. Another place I highly recommend you go to if you are over there. Their icecream is out of this world!

Even Chickie recommends Purple Cow icecream!

Our bathroom even has chickie type stuff (although , I think this is a duck - Josie liked it because it was like Chickie)

Well, we went all the way across the miles with this poor chicken stuffed animal. Not once did we lose him. We were home for maybe a week and my daughter and I went over to the Tippecanoe Mall (a lot of nice people there at the help desk and facebook fan page helped us try to locate Chickie as well!). We got off the City bus (again, great people at the desk there that when we called a million times didn't seem to mind at all and continued to look. When Josie's daddy picked her up the day afterwards they went over to the City bus and even saw Josie's favorite bus driver Melvin and they looked in lost and found- no chickie! I appreciate how much they helped though!) at the mall we went to Hot Topics. Hot Topics is one of Josie's favorite places to go in the mall. For her second grade graduation gift my mom gave Josie a $15 Hot Topics gift card. She used part of it in the Hot Topics in P.A and then that day got some of those silly bandz with the rest of it.

We went from there to the Avon Kiosk, we looked inside at the Kitchen place there, we walked all the way to the front from there (really didn't stop many places except a few kiosks) and went straight out the mall into the parking lot over to McDonald's where we met my mother for lunch. As we were sitting there and Josie is eating chicken nuggets she starts panicking and throwing things out of the bags and dumping my purse and I couldn't stop her. I asked her what she was looking for when she screamed ," CHICKIE!!!!, " yes, folks after all this time of having Chickie we misplaced him. This time we were off the bus for almost an hour. We were in several little places in the mall and came across the street to McDonald's where who knows what could have happened to him since then.

We packed up our Nuggets and food and I grabbed another Sweet Tea and we went and re-traced our steps. We walked carefully and slowly across the parking lot even looking under parked cars. We got to the doors of the front entrance of the mall where yes, you are going to be grossed out but I stuck my hands into the trash cans. I also carry hand sanitizer with me so don't fret! I did it for the kiddo.
We walked inside the mall , looked at kids passing by in hopes maybe one of them saw the little guy on the ground and just picked him up. No luck there. We went straight to Hot Topics where we spent the most time at and the girls were so nice. We had called from McDonald's and they already looked around and then helped a second time when we went inside. What was even cooler is that some of the customers there started to help as well. One girl even got on her hands and knees to help in the search for Chickie! These people don't realize that even though it was just a stuffed animal they were doing a great deed for a little girl that day.

After I walked up and down the mall putting my hands through trash cans digging and explaining myself to a very patient mall cop we were done. We made two more stops and that was it.

We went to the play place inside the mall. We looked inside all the cubbies that you throw your shoes in. No luck. We called the bus company and they told us that usually the buses are the same buses that come (just different drivers) and we were tired from searching. We got on the bus to go home. It was the same bus because there was the same grafitti on one side of the bus seat that we were on the other side. We looked under the seats. No Chickie.

Chickie was hopelessly lost forever :(

I know it sounds silly to some people but I immediately put things to action when I got home and attacked all the websites I could think of including a whole bunch of facebook fan pages for the mall, the city bus, hot topics, lafayette jconline, etc. Anything I could think of. Then, I made a HELP US FIND CHICKIE!!! fan page on facebook.

I couldn't believe all the effort that people were making to help my little girl find her Chickie. It was unbelievable the response I was getting. Some people even posted photos of Chickie on their facebook pages, myspace pages, web blogs, web pages, and I was told a few stores in the neighborhood printed up a couple of flyers and put them in their windows. I would like to thank you all right now!

A friend of ours Amie Dillon saw these posts online and she had a similiar Chickie to what Josie was missing. Her daughter Jaiden didn't need him and had to many animals of her own. We tried to get the reunion going here but it failed a few times for various reasons but it is all good. ..

Here is Jaiden with Chickie all buckled in on his way home to Josie (who was at Columbia Park fishing with daddy today):

She is such a lovely little girl! :)<3

And here is Josie at the Park reunited with Chickie :

Thanks Amie and Jaiden! You guys rock!

Also, I would like to let people out there know there is a website that you can find your lost friends. When I was looking for Chickie and I posted on a Yahoo group for him I had some lovely people come out of the woodwork and they even posted a little thing for Chickie on their website which you can see right here.

They are Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service and you can find them on the web here.

Go to their webpage here that is labeled CONTACT US and tell them what you are missing or even if you can give help for some of the lost toys out there. You never know YOU might have one of these toys in your home!

There is also a site from them called Yesterday's memories of times past . You might find some old things you are looking for there!

Thanks again everyone for all your help! You rock!!! :)
