Off to college , On to responsibility

Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy

I am so ecstatic about leaving home to attend college! I as well as my family have worked hard to afford me this opportunity. I am not going to mismanage my time, body, or my parent's money. For anyone else out there like me, this blog is dedicated to you as I am going to share my preparation in order to ensure a smooth transition.

There are countless things that I must pick up, purchase, and prime before I leave for college. Besides books, toiletries, clothes, linen, clothe detergent, food, first-aid kit, laptop, G.P.S., there's one thing that Wal-mart can't bag for me. I am going to need to make sure my clearwireless and tv bundle is top notch as I will need my laptop not only for work, but for play and keeping in touch!

Though I have a meal plan, I will need cutlery and plastic china in case I want to microwave something to eat. Everything I have is protected under my father's insurance plan, so I don't have to worry about renter's insurance or anything. God forbid I get mugged!

I am going to go first thing to the library and scope out a quiet spot to study. I am being proactive not knowing my roommate. I study best in solitude. I am also going early to try and find a good house of worship. My faith is important to me and I need a good church to attend weekly. I will build relationship with good people in the community this way. At least that is what my mother says! Lastly, I will be on the prow for the best hair stylist. Though I am already in a relationship, I don't want to scare anyone away by sporting a wild do!
