Do you need an asbestos survey at your home?

Asbestos is a very serious thing and can be found in roof sheets, plaster board, pipe lagging, etcetra. According to a website I found on an asbestos survey website it states the definition of asbestos as," Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that can be broken down into strands, or fibers as they're better known, and up until the end of the 90s was used in specialized products for fireproofing, waterproofing, insulation and soundproofing. "

Asbestos has been known to cause a number of lung diseases and it can be very deadly for you and your loved ones. I am a mother of a 8 1/2 year old and I know I would do whatever it would be to protect her, won't you do the same? Even if it is for your employees that are working in an older building and there have been illnesses that are unexplained. I would check not only for carbon monoxide poising I would look into asbestos as well.

In the UK it is preferred to be looked at in businesses and optional in homes. I still , personally, would look into asbestos for the home. If you have any children, elderly, sick people at home I would urgently look into it. On the website I found it looks very easy to find a quote on removal, survey or even analyzing material. It is better to be safe than sorry when things like this that can be very deadly are concerned. It takes two minutes of your time to pop in some information and get a quote now.

Click here to find a quote of a asbestos survey now. You will be glad you did.

Looking for affordable medical care?

I found a website that is for anyone searching for afordable medical care coverage and discounts. It is called American Health Insurance. I know personally that without medical insurance I wouldn't have been able to take care of myself or my daughter because I just can't afford the doctors these days. You may have to pay a premium /our of pocket for insurance but you won't have to spend as much as it initially would be. This is great because when I had my tumor removed it would have cost me a gazillion dollars and I don't have that kind of money.

ON the website you can go to the drop down menu and pick your state. You can also pick the plan you are looking for such as HMO, PPO, Catastrophic, or Health Care Reform. The website describes everything in detail and gives you a list of prices that are available and what each insurance covers. It is all pick and choose. It is very easy to access and get around.
I never found a website this accessible before. So, If you are looking for Health Insurance Go check it out, can't hurt!

Improving my slapshot

Guest post written by Sam Osbourne

Sometimes I secretly wish that I was born Canadian because then I bet that I would have way more friends that would appreciate hockey as much as I do. But I am lucky to have found a lot of friends who actually are hockey fans, but almost as big of hockey fans as I am.

I guess it all goes back to those The Mighty Ducks movies that I used to love when I was a kid. I was on the internet the other day actually trying to track down a DVD set of the movies because now my old VHS tapes of them aren't useful because they're barely playable and I'm getting rid of my VCR. When I was doing that I came across the site http://www.clearwirelessinternetservice.com and read through it. I think I might switch over my internet service to it soon.

While I was at it, I found a DVD with tips on how to improve your slapshot. Mine just hasnÕt been what it used to be lately when I play with my friends.

Where the streets have no name

...Or apparently, I can't find them... We went flyering again today for an hour and got rid of 83 flyers and saw some really cool stuff along the way. I did not bring my camera but I had my camera phone on me ! There are a lot of really cool decorations out there and some really odd ones... Here are some camera phone pictures I got from our little walk today :

These people had a WHOLE grave yard going on!!!

Another graveyard but with more PERSONAL gravestones. This one is R.I.P Daddy 1971-2008 . I am not to sure what it reads on the bottom but all I make out is " Mom got all the M..... " I am just hoping it isn't MONEY...

This is at St. Elizabeth Hospital. My friend who lives in New York had a picture similar to this on her profile picture and when I mentioned there was something like that here she said that she was told it was a rare one and not many existed. So, I shot the picture to show her. Someone put flowers in this statues hands. There is also a quite creepy statue in white on knees and hands outstretched up to the statue but she just looks oddly creepy. I feel like her eyes just stare right into you.

I have been sick and not feeling to good. I started to feel a little under weather and dehydrated so we stopped at Budgies for something to drink and Josie got fries. Instead of letting the fry fall to the ground she caught it with her pants. I would also like to note this is the first time in history my daughter has dipped a fry into ice-cream and enjoyed it. Yes, a milestone for Josie.

Okay, being the random person I am I had to include this picture of Josie in our living room . She drew this awesome picture and later I am going to scan it and make it better than this. Camera Phones in minimal light sucks.. well at least mine does.

This picture I took yesterday on our flyering adventures! The trees are bare! Some are still with multi-colored leaves, some are brown, some are just bald.

This is one of those streets yesterday in West Lafayette that was just gorgeous with their leaves ! Some of these trees were also bald but most of them still looked like fall.

Josie reading her Dr. Who comic from Von's on the way home from flyering yesterday. We had to stop in Von's for Comic books. Josie walks dogs on occasion and earns money. She has been saving up for Christmas , yesterday she spent some on comics . Yah, she isn't my kid at all. LOL.

Now, I am going to just lay my head down for a bit (Not sleep, just put head down and let aspirin work its' magic).... My head aches, my nose is stuffed and I just feel all out of whack.

I Went Shopping With My Son for His Halloween Costume

Guest Blog by Omar Schwartz

Since Halloween is coming up, I decided that I needed to buy a costume for my son. I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween. To my horror, he said that he wanted to be a pirate. After I caught my breath, I explained to him that pirates are outlaws who use violence to steal from boats. I asked him to try again. He said he wanted to be a ninja. I told him that ninjas also use violence, so that was out of the question. Since it was clear that my boy wasn't capable of making a decision for himself, I decided that he would be a pumpkin for Halloween. After I locked up the house and made sure that the home security alarm from systems home security San Jose was properly set, we got in the car and drove to the costume store.

At the store, I was able to find the materials that I needed for my son's pumpkin costume. I bought a pair of green tights, an orange trash bag, and a green felt cap. When we got home, we set about putting the costume together. I needed to figure out how to make the pumpkin look nice and plump, so I told my son to rake the yard. Then I was able to stuff the leaves in the pumpkin suit. Everyone in the neighborhood agreed that I did a great job.

Thinking of moving to Arizona?!

I found a great website about real estate for sale in Mesa, Arizona!!! This website shows you how to search Foreclosure listings, has a video tutorial, and you can search homes as well. There is also LIVE HELP available if you need it. Pretty cool, huh?

I was looking into places in Arizona recently actually for a friend of mine so when I discovered this link I was really excited about it! In order to get started you do have to register but they don't ask for credit card information so you really don't have to worry about that and the form is simple and easy to fill out!

It seems like Arizona is a very diverse population and in Mesa it is a low crime area according to what they have on the website.

I encourage you to look at it if you are interested at all in moving to Arizona!

A far out costume

Guest post written by Chris Myers

As a single dad, I'm clueless about a lot of things hwen it comes to my daughter, like fixing her hair and picking otu clothes for her. But when she told me that she wanted to dress up like a hippie for Halloween I was really happy because that sounded like it would be easy enough to find an outfit for her to wear.

First I consulted my direct tv internet to look at some Google images and come up with some ideas and inspiration for exactly what she couuld wear. And I did find a lot of ideas on it.

Lucky for me, she has a lot of flowery dresses so I'm just going to get her to wear one of those with some of her boots and big sunglasses. Also, I told her that she should put a flower or two in her hair to be a hippie. I also asked my sister if she could help us out and she came over and approved of what I had come up with so far. She's going to braid her hair some on Halloween too and bring soem of her jewelry for her to wear. I think we're actually gonig to pull this off.

Next time i pass out flyers i wont be carrying around a ton of books....

A different mode of transportation (Guest Post)

Guest post written by Dave Carlson

Being a cash-strapped recent college grad means that I have all these things that I want to go do and see but not a whole lot of money to do it on. So I've been using a mode of transportation to go and visit my friends in their new and exciting cities that I had never used before until recently, charter buses.

I knew that I couldn't really afford to pay for plane tickets to New York, LA and Houston, where some of my best friends are living now, so I went on my 4G Internet clear and found some cheap bus rides.

I soon learned that the thing about riding a bus is that you normally do get what you pay for, which isn't a whole lot.

But I always take along a book or two to read on the way and just bear the hours-long ride. It's already saved me a lot of money and I've gotten to see the scenic views of the country. That's one great things that the convenience of planes robs you of, which makes me want to travel even more.

Are you looking for cheap car insurance?!

Do you have bad credit? Have faults on other insurance companies? A student? Searching for new insurance? Or a multitude of other things that might be holding you back from getting car insurance? I found a perfect website for you then. It is a place where you can compare cheaper rates for quality car insurance. A friend of mine was looking the other day for car insurance and I came upon this website.

It is a very easy to read website unlike some others that you come upon because it has tabs and very colorful links that are easy to see.
My mom , who isn't very computer savy, could use this website with no issues! The very front page of this website has a form where you can put in your information to start finding auto insurance right away! It is a very easy form that just asks for your name, state, E-Mail, Phone number, make & model of your vehicle. First you should click one of the tabs that describes your needs such as my friend is "student" then fill out the information. She found really great rate auto insurance on this website. Not bad!

I encourage you all to go look at it today!

( I was not paid by this website to advertise this information.)

Equi Leads....

I found this very interesting website called EquiLeads. Basically, it is a website where you can find fresh internet sales leads, website network programs, home loans, etc.

It is totally free to join, has a cherry pick system, bogus lead return, and you can download it to excel. The financial services they offer are anywhere from mortgages to merchant services. It is a very easy to read website and very user friendly.

It allows you to use your blog with affiliate programs to make more money for you! It is supposed to help you turn your blog or website into a profitable homebased business. There is a very easy form to fill out to join and explore your options.

What I found interesting is the fresh home loan financing leads. This is a way for people who are in the business of selling mortgages to find prospective clients.

Either way, i found this website really interesting and I think you should check it out too!

Patton, Pursuit of Destiny

I recently ran across a site that is called BookSneeze. It is a site where you can get free books in the mail or in PDF form. You review the book and post your review on booksneeze (your link pretty much so they know where to track it). This link can be your actual blog or a site like Amazon.com, B&N, Borders. Wherever you posted your review you just cut and paste the URL into their tracking system. Then, you go to their available books link to see what is available at the moment. The link to Booksneeze is on my About Me page here on my blog. It is a great way to get many great free books!

You have to post your honest opinion of it whether it is a good or bad opinion. They want to know what YOU think. I have done that today with Patton.

Patton (The Generals) Tenacity in Action
By Agostino von Hassell

The book I got was about General Patton. I actually admire this man in history. I know that sounds crazy, he is dead. But, He is one of my all-time favorite Generals. They have made a number of movies about him some of them showing his hard ass side more than his other side, his sensitive side and the journals he kept & letters her wrote to his wife, the side that other Generals deemed worthy of Patton that wasn't as worthy as they should be.

I actually enjoyed this book. It took me a few days to read it and I started with the author's preface because it gave a general history of Patton and who he actually is and why the author decided to write this book. If you never started reading the book from the author's page , Note from the Editor, Introduction, etc ; I seriously recommend you do. Sometimes you will get more information and insight as to why the author wrote what they did, why certain things were left out, why certain things were put in, etc. I once got upset with a book for leaving out some vital information that I knew about Vietnam. What I didn't do was read the beginning to see that the author was trying to go for the more humane side of the issue then the political side of it. After I read this , I re-read that book to discover I missed some things, some vital pieces of information; the actual insight. Sometimes you want to find yourself in the head of another human being to actually know what is going on. This book portrayed Patton that way.

The reason why it took me a couple days to actually read it was not because the book was hard to read it was because I just started another semester of college so life has been "interesting". This book was actually a very easy read. It gave a lot of wonderful insight to the general that you won't see with other books about him (or movies). It showed that the hard ass he was on the outside wasn't the person he really was when he was just an ordinary human being. He had his frail side , his sensitive side, the family struggles. He came from a family of military man and had to prove himself (or felt like he had to prove himself). They left out a few details to the insight of the war and I found myself a little lost. I think they did this as I said for the reason they were more trying to show the side of General Patton that not many people got to see. Just like the book on Vietnam I had read in the past where I was a little upset about why they left out certain details but after I read the author's details I figured it out. This Introduction, however, left out a little bit of the war for that part too. In this book I don't feel it was really necessary to add more to it and that little piece being missing wasn't that big a deal.

If you like history at all , writing a report for school, or just oddily curious about the people behind the people then this book is for you. It will give you great insight into the General and why he was the person he was. If you read the introduction first as I suggest you will understand also the author's point of view of why he wrote it in this way. This man really truly made a difference in the life of a lot of people and to truly understand this you have to open up this book.

**My thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book for review. This book is my opinion . I was given this book by Booksneeze to review in exchange to have free books. They did not pay me to read this book nor give a good opinion. I gave my honest opinion to this book .

Front seat walker

Things observed while walking this morning :

* The first thing I noticed was that even though I don't have a car that someone was parked where my car would be even though there is a huge space in front of them. In front of their apartment area ! But NO! They park right in front of my apartment where my invisible car is.
My invisible car is now not very happy and don't think the insurance will cover the damages.

* A bottle cap on the sidewalk. What is special about this bottle cap? It is a vintage Pepsi Cola. I don't even know how I managed to notice it being on the ground underneath my feet but I did. I think what got my attention was the old Pepsi logo.

No, I didn't pick it up even though I probably should have but it was kind of sitting in what looked to be dog poop that someone forgot to clean up.

* Two black cats walking side to side like they were power walking, having their morning jog, on their way to get some coffee. It was a very odd sight. They literally could have been holding hands.

* A sanitation department worker picking his nose. He was doing it so much that I thought at any minute I would spot his brains. I did , however, him putting his hand out the window and wiping it on the side of the door.

* A dog peeing on the funeral parlor's door. I wonder if they know there is dog pee on the door. I wonder how many people have touched that door with dog pee on it. Now, I want to carry Clorox wipes wherever I go. Seriously, I think I am starting to have a phobia to certain things. Lately, things have been irritating me.

* Two kids with crumbled up baseball cards sitting on the front steps of a church building showing each other their collection. This also made me cringe because I used to collect baseball cards and would hold them with tweezers. I would keep them in little plastic covers and certain ones nobody could even touch. I was about these kid's ages too. But, here sits Jackie Robinson in front of the steps just a little crumbled and waiting for someone to notice he fell. *sigh*

* At her school I sat with the kids and colored with Josie. One little boy had a Plastic Man action figure (so cool!) and his hands were in the shapes to smash things. He was smashing a evil apple slice that was attacking an invisible Batman.

* A little girl had on 1920's looking purple framed glasses that I thought was the bomb.

* Josie likes to torture her father with spiders even in pictures.

On the way home :

* Speaking of spiders, there was 5 daddy long legs on the side of a building having a meeting about the breakfast they were about ready to eat which would be the poor little fly that was in the middle of them . He wasn't moving either so I am assuming they either injected their poison in him already or he was scared shitless.

* Three little white bags tied up on the sidewalk next to a tree. YES! Someone cleaned up after their dog and left them in neat little bundled packages for the owners of the house to have to clean up. Or for some random person to walk by with untied shoelaces and fall into it. Either way, they are there annoying me.

* A piece of paper that was on the ground below. It was notebook paper with pink writing pretty much glued to the ground. It read," I hate you , you son of a bitch." I bet the person at the other end of this letter was not thrilled with this message. Clearly a disgruntled girlfriend. I wonder if he is dead. Who knows he could be a cold case right now?! He could be on the bottom of the Wabash...... he could be.... Okay, yah, I watch to many cop shows.

* A guy in a three piece all-black suit talking to a guy in a red shirt and shorts on a bike. They looked friendly towards each other. Who knows what the story could be there. Maybe the suit was a broker of some sort. Maybe the guy in the shorts was being "friendly" to the guy in the suit to avoid any further bad news. Hmmmmm

* Something slimy on a tree. It was green and oozing. It looked like that cartoon slime, the kind the Ninja Turtles swam in before they became Ninja Turtles. Maybe this tree will be a Ninja Tree fighting crime. Hey! That would be a fun comic!

* The same car that was sitting in front of my parking spot with my invisible car was now sitting a little further backwards somewhere in between my apartment and the invisible neighbor's apartment. Now the invisible neighbors are angry because their invisible Harley was run over and they had no insurance for it.

I need coffee...

(Oh fun fact... look in this post for links that have nothing or something to do with what I wrote. This is totally random!)

OUTfest!

For those of you who don't know what OUTfest is, it is a festival that celebrates gay pride. I , myself, am not gay. I do, however, have friends who are. I have always believed that if you love someone than it shouldn't matter who they are and what their sexual orientation is, their racial backgrounds, etc. I love learning about different cultures, meeting new people and learning about who they are as a human being. It doesn't matter who they are there are bad people and there are good people no matter what skin color, cultural background, sexual orientation. It is just like for cities for example New Jersey people here so many bad things about Jersey and so many things are shown on television that people automatically associate Jersey with gang wars, crime, etc. If you truly looked around you would see that this stuff happens everywhere even in the smallest of towns.

A friend of mine in High School told me he was gay. This is actually the first time I heard the word gay and I said, " And?," and he just smiled kissed me on the forehead and said, "that is why I love you." I knew he liked boys. Hell, we talked all the time about it. I think the first time he looked at a guy and said that he had a nice ass I knew he was a little bit different plus he dressed better than most guys I know. I lost touch with him after the first year of High School because I moved to another city. I moved to another city that was more open to things then I was aware of because these things didn't even phase me . It was until I saw the hate crimes for people that I started to notice.

Jack Gilman , May 9, 1993 , my sophmore year. This is a name that stuck with me. I woke up and got dressed like any normal day turned on the radio in my room and heard his name. He was shot in the head. I didn't even know Jack. I never met him, never once ran into him anywhere. He was from Kentucky. I just know I sat on my bed and cried. This world was looking more and more glum to me.

Just because someone is different.

I went to OUTfest in the hopes to show Josie , my daughter, that there are people that are different out there . That she don't have to be afraid of things because she don't understand them. I want her to understand. She is pretty cool with getting to know things like this. She is very inquisitive about everything in life and that is what makes her such a great kid. One of her friends in her old school had two moms. That is when she first asked me questions. I want her to be open to the world around her but still cautious because there are bad people out there no matter where you go.

She had a blast. Her favorite moment was at the Imagination Station booth where the guy there showed her prisms and how to make her own rainbow . She thought it was so cool that she made her own rainbow that she was trying it all the way to my mom's house with her glasses looking up in the sky and spitting her water to make sprinkles. I don't think she was knew that that really couldn't work but she was having fun. She got a rainbow lollipop, some bubbles and got to meet some friends of mine. She even got to see her belly dancer instructor from Girl Scouts.

I encourage everyone to go because it is a great way to learn about Gay Pride and what it really means. It is a great way to meet new people and learn different things. There are tons of pamphlets they pass out. There are tons of websites you can go to. I am going to list some here right now :

* Journal and Courier website on OUTfest
