Watching Near-Death Experiences Is Always Intense

Guest post written by my buddy Keith Kramer

I do not like the ocean. I mean, I like the ocean when I'm standing on the beach. I will put my feet in the water and watch the waves come in. I might even hop on a boogey board once in a while. However, when it comes to boats, I'm not a fan. One good example is when I was 13 years old. It was a deep sea fishing trip off the coast of Maine. I threw up 32 times. I remember a local stating that a city boy couldn't handle the ocean. Little did he know, I wasn't a city boy. But, this experience did have an interesting impact on me. I always respect what I can't do. This is why The Deadliest Catch has quickly become my favorite daytime television show. I make sure I watch The Deadliest Catch on the channels I get with my directv packages every day. I recently found out that this show has been on for years. I had no idea that was the case. Now I have to go back and see if I can find the old episodes.

The most interesting part of The Deadliest Catch is not watching them trying to survive the rough waters; it's how they handle the pressure. This includes how they react personally, as well as how the interact with each other. It's always interesting to see how people will behave in near-death situations.
