Vicious Door.............

My door in my apartment when I first moved in had a small hole in the top that I think still is a "bullet hole" because it is burnt around the edges and all. The door is heavy when you close it shut but really thin. Anyhow, when I first moved in my bathroom door didn't close all the way. I called my landlord and the maintenance man came over and fixed it by shaving it or something. It now closes all the way and even locks which is a good thing.

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and josie came in to use the toilet (normal for us to be in the bathroom at the same time- i never am alone anymore lol)... well she for some reason even though it is just us two in the house closes the bathroom door and a triangle piece comes loose almost hitting Josie. I saw it falling and some how reflexes... See more kicked in and pushed her away. It could have been bad :( OMG .. it was right where the "bullet hole" is in my door. Now i need to call my landlord on that.

I just emailed my landlord the photos of the door and the piece that came out and what happened.

That is the piece that came out of the door. I know this is an older door and I am not exactly sure what it is made of but it looks like glass and I searched online and found some old doors were made of glazed leaded glass. A friend of mine just told me his parent's home is old and is made of old aluminum. I doubt this is aluminum but I can't be sure. It is just sharp and scary.


Things are just rolling around in my head right now like " What if I wasn't in the bathroom?" or " What if I closed the door like I was going to?"... Or " What if " this and " What if" that. Right now, I am no longer trying to lodge my heart back into my chest but I have cried so much that I think my eyeballs fell out. I hugged Josie so much I think she thought I was nuts. She handled it okay. She was a little scared and shocked. She fell asleep shortly after though so she is fine.

I truly believe my Guardian angel in the past month has worked over-time and better be getting his or her pay. Man, what a day! It was a good one too. Joz and I had lunch with a friend, we went to Big Lots and got some things for our trip, went also to Target where my friend explained to me that these $1 off coupons actually work on trial products as long as it doesn't read that it isn't allowed so now I will be using this to my advantage soon. I got things packed and ready for our road trip, we watched Superman Serials about the Atom Man and Joz and I sat here laughing our butts off at the animated superman that flew around for the real one.

Then, My heart jumps out of my chest.
