Etsy of the Weird

Well, here I am once again bored. So, I decided to hop onto Etsy.com again and see if there was anything strange this week that I may have missed.

Here is this week's top five :

This is called "September Blue" and it is by gjarvisjewerlyetc on etsy.com. Apparently, there are a bunch of people out there that have huge obsessions of cutting up barbie dolls and turning them into things like earrings , necklaces, keychains.( People look at me strange when I tell them I used to mutilate barbies when I was little but what they don't understand is I could be selling these now and make a profit from it!) I still don't understand the BRATZ feet key chain that I found at one time. I wish I could remember the URL so that I could share it with you all as well. This isn't creepy though, it is odd and I just guess that barbie parts are in high demand on etsy. Am I to understand it? Not really.

zombie rabbit coffee mug

Who wouldn't want a Zombie rabbit holding a carrot on their coffee mug? Actually , I find it quite amusing. In reality if I had the $35.00 for this mug I would probably buy it for the heck of it. It is very unique and original and even in a way "cute".

Here is what the artist wrote on this , " (large)Zombie Rabbit And Carrot Coffee Mug is about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" (5" wide with handle). It holds about 16oz. making it the perfect mug for all you coffee achievers out there.

This ceramic cup is wheelthrown and altered midrange porcelain with carved relief design. It is decorated with orange, green, and black underglazes. The glaze is transparent with a varied bluish tint. Interior glaze is black. Electric kiln fired to Cone 6.

Food safe. Diswasher safe. Avoid microwave use except for the quick coffee warm up - any longer and the clay gets too hot. Ouch. Never use on stove top. "

I actually know of a artist here in town where I live named Angela Vinson that owns the LaLa Gallery and she has these monsters that she makes that are pretty awesome! She has them as plushies , coffee mugs, art works, etc. Things like this are very unique and creative to me. I wish I had the talent to come up with these things that I could put on pottery. ( I am just not good with clay )

cemetary dirt

I really don't know why anyone would want a vile of cemetary dirt but for $25.00 you can purchase some on Etsy.com. Seriously this makes me a little creeped out to tell you the truth. It is labeled as " Cemetery Dirt in Vintage Jar from Highgate Cemetery in London, England - Old Specimen Label Replica - Gothic" . I understand all the Gothic things out there and some of them I really find interesting. This I can't even fathom what you would do with it. Place it on your bookshelf and show your friends, " Hey dudes look what i got.. some old ass cemetary dirt..ha ha ha ." On the description it reads ," "Hey Mom! I want some dirt from where George Eliot and Karl Marx are buried!" That's what all the kids are saying these days isn't it?" Hmmmm.. I wonder if they can get me some Edgar Allen Poe cemetary dirt? That would be awesome! (not!).

eyeball

Yes, this is a eyeball. It is for four bucks on Etsy.com. I don't know what else to say about this god awful thing except that my daughter could probably make this look better if she wanted to , plus who would want to purchase a fleece painted eyeball anyhow? What is its' purpose? The "artist" wrote " It is great to put it on your desk as a conversation starter or through it at someone or scare you family and friends with it. " First of all , I would never have it on my desk and if I did it would bring up conversations such as "did your daughter make that?" because it looks like a little kid put it together and second of all it is THROW not through. This would not scare anyone I know that is for sure. It is by Th1rte3nsCloset and they have other oddities for sale as well.

gnome poop

It is a greeting card made by Glen Hibline Illustration. The description reads ," The philosophical riddle regarding observation and reality that many great minds and people like Ophah and Sara Jessica Parker have pondered has finally been answered.
If a gnome poops in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Inside: Yes. Yes it does.
Now have a good day.

All greeting cards are 4x6 and ship in a protective cellophane sleeve."

Why would you want to send a card to someone about a Gnome pooping? Although, I find it funny because my best friend is a gnome- a fuzzy one. If he sees this he will probably laugh. Oh, I love how they can't even spell Oprah and would Oprah really be pondering Gnome poop? Maybe we should ask her!
